The Atheists

MARK SMITH, Manatee Community College in Bradenton, FL and Caliornia State University in Long Beach, CA. He is a mechanical engineer by trade. A former Christian turned atheist, Smith now runs the website JCnot4me.com posting critical arguments and challenging theists worldwide.

BRUCE FLAMM, M.D. Wake Forest University, Inland Empire Atheists & Agnostics club organizer, Freedom From Religion lifetime member, Coalition for Secular America advisory board member, and outspoken critic of supernatural and faith-healing claims.

ALEX UZDAVINES, fourth year undergrad at University of California in Irvine, CA. He is studying psychology and social behavior and is a leader of the AAR (Atheists, Agnostics, & Rationalists) club on the UCI campus.

The Christians

HUGH ROSS, Ph.D Astronomy, University of Toronto, former fellow at CalTech, and founder of Reasons to Believe. Ross and the RTB staff keep tabs on the frontiers of research and how it connects with biblical theology. Ross has written numerous books and debates frequently on these issues.

CLAY JONES, M.Div - Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is assistant professor in the MA in Christian apologetics program at Biola University, has authored scholarly articles, and formerly hosted a nationally-syndicated, talk radio program.

DAN GROSSENBACH, M.A.  Christian Apologetics, Biola University. He teaches apologetics at Mount of Olives Church in Mission Viejo, is a contributor to the blogsite ApologeticJunkie.com, and is a federal criminal investigator by profession.

 

Our moderator will be Brian Dunning from Skeptoid.com

Debate Format

This debate was in a panel format, where each side was asked pre-determined questions from the other side.  After a short rebuttal, there was an open moderated discussion until the next question iwasasked.   

After 6 questions were asked from each side,  questions from the submited emails were asked.
